Chunchanakatte Hydro Electric Power Project

Graphite India Limited - Kolkata, entrusted the civil works of a 2 x 9 MW hydro electric powerplant at Chunchanakatte near Mysore in 1994 to MCC. Valued at approximately Rs.19 crores, the project involved realignment of an existing anicut across the river Cauvery to a length of 140m., construction of a head regulator, road bridge, power canal 805m. in length, forebay, intake penstock, powerhouse, tailrace canal, switch yard, fire water tank and pump house.
